Chapter#1-THE SCATTERING BEFORE THE DAY OF PENTECOST

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. Acts 2:1; KJV

A key part of our fellowship as Believers is Agreement.  It is critical for church growth as it is for evangelism and winning souls. To be in agreement is to be in one accord – it is to be harmonious or consistent with the objective of our faith.

In the early church, agreement was critical because after Jesus was taken away, there was a scattering of the disciples, each man to his own work. Jesus predicted this at the last supper when He told His disciples:

31  All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the ock shall be scattered abroad.

32   But after I am risen again, I will go

before you into Galilee. Matthew 26:31-32; KJV

The Gospel according to John brings it out more clearly:

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me

John 16:32; KJV

Now we know that the scattering came because the disciples  were  offended  of  Christ.  The  word

‘Offend’ was used here to depict the level of betrayal that Christ received from His disciples. It was so intense that at His trial it was only Peter (and John), out of the twelve who was present. And even him, he opened his mouth to deny Jesus three times, of any knowledge of Him. Although we usually talk about Peter as the betrayer, we forget that at the time of His trial, only Peter had to muster the courage to go near and stand there out of the twelve. We also know that the reason why the disciples were offended of Christ is because they were scared for their lives and hence, they were scattered.

The revelation brings an end to the scattering. At the time that Christ had died, even though the disciples had heard everything that Christ had told them – including that He would arise again on the 3rd day – they still scattered. If these disciples who were the first point of contact of Jesus’ ministry

could still be scattered, then how much more you and I who have only heard and read about Him? Do not be deceived; it is very easy for the believer to backslide if there is no revelation.

Interesting right?

The storms, the rain and the sunshine, the boisterous winds, and how resilient you have been in this life until time eventually caught up with you.

Your life must have been beautiful. I cannot imagine how excited you were about connecting to a regular source of water and food. You did not have to worry about going hungry or thirsty. Let us talk a little about the good times you had, like this sibling of yours I saw still connected to your source.

I believe it was Jesus Who described the splendor of your kind in the Bible:

"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.1

I am sure you were a sight to behold. Tell me about the people who stopped by you to make that phone call you eavesdropped all over. Tell me about the shouts you heard and the students who passed by worried about the mid-term exams they were going to take – wait: could you read thoughts too? I cannot hear you talk back, so I will keep asking questions to reflect. Continue Reading

As I stood taking a picture of you, I began to imagine the good days that you have lived. The great memories you have had - the whistles from humans, the shouting and the talking, even crying as they walked past you in times past.

In a typical digital transformation effort, C-Level executives often overlook the importance of driving a digital culture. Leaders of digital transformation efforts are often preoccupied with getting the technology and process changes right, that they overlook the people side of things.
